International Literacy Day: September 8

This International Literacy Day, we’re celebrating the power of literacy to open doors, strengthen communities, and create new opportunities. At Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester, every lesson, conversation, and connection helps adult learners build confidence and participate more fully in their communities.

Volunteer: Become a volunteer tutor and help students improve their English language and literacy skills.

In FY26, more than 500 students from 58 countries studied English with LVGW. Through our classes and individualized tutoring, these students improved their language and literacy skills, built lasting friendships and developed the confidence needed to navigate life in America.
