The American Pakistan Foundation wishes you a Happy July 4th!  On this day of celebrating freedom, liberty, and diversity, we are proud to announce 47 APF team members are being  honored by the Mayor's Office of NYC for their 100-1,600 hours of service in one year with certificates from Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYC Chief Service Officer Paula Gavin.

Jocelyne Jeannot, Abu Baker, and Vanessa O'Brien at Gracie Mansion

The team is comprised of dedicated board members, pro-bono professionals, interns, and volunteers.  They have recognized their access to opportunity in the United States and the need to help others achieve their dreams. They are committed to serving the Pakistani American community, local American and Pakistan development organizations, and  promoting positive work.

An additional 50 volunteers who assisted at events or participated in service projects are being counted in an official report by NYC. This is the fourth year our team is being recognized.

The American Pakistan Foundation is honored to have a team of dedicated, passionate community leaders.  We wish you a great holiday with your loved ones!

I have had extended Pakistani family for over 25 years. All of the 2nd generation have been educated here. Some have remained. They have become involved politically, socially, and economically. I have witnessed their commitment to cross-culturalism, to empowerment through education, to healthcare both here and in their country of birth. They give back... as the American Pakistan Foundation leadership and membership does. To create development that is sustainable is a community effort... APF creates and fosters this community.

APF provided me the once in a lifetime opportunity to see for myself the place that has shaped so much of my identity and to provide some service to it. For that I am eternally grateful.
