"For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land"

-Song of Solomon 2:11-12 (ESV)-

We are very excited about our summer season starting soon! There is a full schedule with teams from different places in the United States. They will be working on our play areas, painting, on our farm. and so much more! The kids are anxiously waiting to see their friends! Please be in prayer for safe travels through the summer for all our teams, volunteers, and visitors.

School has started!

School started back in February! The children were excited to get back into school to see their teachers and new grades.

Something new in this year is we trying to get more involved into the community of Guaimaca. A couple weeks ago a group came from town to play soccer, and we hope to continue to compete in the Science fair and other academic opportunities Guaimaca offer.

Continued prayers for the teachers and students throughout the school year!

Semana Santa

The week of Easter the children were out of school, and we did many different activities. We had a movie night where we watched the Passion of the Christ with the older kids. With all the houses, we had a tournament of soccer, volleyball, dodgeball, and so much more! We had a blast celebrating our Risen King.

There are many ways to donate!

We invite you to prayerfully consider making a gift to Emmanuel. Your generosity helps us continue the work God has placed before us.

It is tax deductible. There are TWO ways to do so!

Container Information

Did you know that you can send gifts to the children or staff on the container? It is a great way to stay connected with everyone down there. If you sponsor the child you are sending a gift for, the office will send a picture of them receiving their box. Please make sure that your boxes are clearly labeled with who the box is for with their full name and number.

Please remember:

· NO food or consumable items NOR hygiene products can be in packages for the children or staff.

· On the outside of the box please write clearly the child’s full name and number (or staff’s name) and the inventory of its contents.

· We ask for a donation of $10 a box or $250 a pallet to help with the shipping cost that can be sent to Mary Beth, our treasurer.

Even though it can't be shipped in boxes, we are able to purchase food, medication, hygiene products, cleaning products, farm supplies, and medical supplies in bulk quantities to be sent down on pallets. As these items are crucial to the care of the children. Please reach out directly to Bryce if you have any questions about how this works or if you have a connection that can help.

Go follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get updates about the future container shipments. The next container deadline is JUNE 7th. You can send down supplies for your team, something for a staff member, gifts for your sponsor children, or something for yourself if you are planning a trip. Make sure you include the name of who the box is for and a detailed inventory on your box.

Sponsorship Program

The Sponsorship Program is our primary source of funds for caring for all of the children here at Emmanuel. It also allows sponsors to establish a personal relationship with an individual child. Sponsors may select a child or we will assign one. The children at Emmanuel come from difficult circumstances. Some are orphans, some abandoned, abused or come from extreme poverty. Once at Emmanuel, we joyfully assume responsibility for their care - including nutritional food, comfortable and clean clothing and living quarters, as well as educational, medical, and general developmental needs. Most importantly, we strive to give the children strong spiritual guidance.

If you or know someone that is interested in becoming part of a child's life at Emmanuel, please follow the button below to fill out the form or contact our sponsorship coordinator, Felipe, at volunteeremmanuel@gmail.com for more information!

In addition to sponsorship contributions, general financial donations to Emmanuel are always needed and appreciated. Checks can be made payable to Orphanage Emmanuel and mailed to 2570 Pinewood Dr., Marietta, GA, 30068. As a 501-c-3, acknowledgement letters for contributions to Emmanuel will be sent to donors at year end.

Volunteering at Emmanuel

Over the years Emmanuel has had the blessing of receiving literally hundreds of volunteers from all over the world. We provide a safe, purpose-filled environment in which many young people have discovered unknown talents, tested their skills, and matured in their walk with Christ. A few of our staff began as volunteers, and most volunteers find themselves coming back again and again to visit or volunteer. We feel blessed to be a part of so many people's journey of faith.

We are in need of male and female volunteers currently. All volunteers need to be minimum 18 years old to be able to serve. Our volunteers help in all of those everyday tasks that when caring for 200+ children pile up quickly - we always have dishes to be washed, laundry to be hung, medicine to be given, babies to be cared for and cuddled, cows to be fed and milked, broken pipes to be fixed, soccer games to be played, hair to be braided, and many other tasks and activities to keep a volunteer occupied. All of that combined with a generous amount of hugs makes for a great volunteer experience!

Volunteers can come for different amounts of time, whatever the Lord is calling you to! We have had volunteers come for one month, 3 months, 6 months or even a year or longer. We would love to host you and have you serve alongside us!

We are also open and interested in helping with internships that a student needs to complete. Here at Emmanuel, there are many different areas of work: school, farm, administrative, nursing, maintenance, and pastoral. Internships could be over a semester or a year. Felipe would be willing to help set up a responsibility for them that fits within their needs and ours as well as sign any forms needed. An internship would be unpaid, but it would be a great experience for all that are involved.

There are few in-country expenses involved when being a volunteer at Emmanuel. There is a $2 a week fee for the volunteer house to help pay for cleaning supplies, gas for the stove, and other items that the volunteers want to do together as a group. The volunteers are welcome to eat all three meals in the comedor with the kids, so any food cost is minimal. Volunteers do go to town together once a week to buy groceries if that is their desire. We also have a snack shop on the campus that sells food, chips, cookies, and drinks that many frequent on a regular basis. The only other expense that you would have is if you wanted to have internet or phone access. It's difficult to estimate how much a volunteer would need month to month. A reasonable amount to consider is an estimated $200 - $300 a month plus the cost of your plane ticket.

If you feel God calling you to be a part of the lives of His precious children at Emmanuel, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Felipe Alvarado, at volunteeremmanuel@gmail.com for more information on how to apply. We also ask that you help us spread the word by reaching out to family, friends or your church and see if anyone would be interested in seeing what God has for them at Emmanuel.

Team Availability

We love to have groups come and serve with us at Emmanuel. We have open dates in the fall, spring, and winter. Groups can be as large as 50 people and as small as 10 people. We are in need of groups to complete projects big and small or if you have a gift (i.e. – plumbing, electricity, welding, hair stylist, doctor or nurse, dentist or hygienist, IT, photography, videography, etc.) that you could use to support Emmanuel is greatly appreciated!

If you have any questions or inquiries about one of the weeks email Morgan, our new US team coordinator, at EmmanuelUSTeams@gmail.com and she will be happy to help!
