May Greetings!
Hello All --

Hope you are all doing well with more and more spring-like days :) Pictured here is our current full Development Team. We are sending Elijah off with all the best wishes and currently looking to hire a full-time Communications & Events Coordinator, as well as a part-time Grants Coordinator. A few other positions in the org are also open -- please check them out HERE and share with folks who may be a good fit!

I had so much fun at our Youth Rising event last month! (If you saw me there or anywhere else in the past few months you know my big news is that I'll be a first-time mama in mid-July). This newsletter also looks ahead towards some unique volunteer opportunities coming up this summer. Additionally, you're the first to be invited to SAVE THE DATE(S) for drop-in Open Houses at our newly renovated Albany House! Check out the invitation below!

On behalf of many,
Hannah & Bruce (pictured above)

Youth Rising event was a blast!
THANK YOU!!
Last week many of us gathered to celebrate 20 years of helping youth "Then & Now" at our Youth Rising event. Many others joined us online for our first hybrid event! It was a truly powerful program and if you haven't yet caught it, I encourage you to watch the full 30 minutes (starting about minute 13 in the YouTube recording shared here). Enjoy these photo highlights from the evening!
HUGE thanks to our wonderful sponsors and all those who were able to attend in-person or online AND who gave so generously. It was a joy hosting you!!
Congratulations, FIJI!
2022 Our Caring Community Award Recipients!
The core values of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) are Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence. FIJI prides itself on developing leaders who contribute to the community throughout their lives -- not just sometime in the future, but NOW. At OSU FIJI is recognized as giving the most community service (over 4,300 hours each year). Jackson Street is one of the primary beneficiaries of FIJI’s community outreach.
Our records show that since 2010, FIJI members have been involved one way or another in making the lives of youth better through Jackson Street. There were many years of weekly “Rec Time” activities where approved volunteers would take youth and staff to the park for kickball or over to a local church for indoor basketball and other games. Since 2014 FIJI members have hosted a Haunted House fundraiser called “Terror on 25th Street” with proceeds benefiting Jackson Street. They creatively navigated the challenges of the pandemic, and found other ways to continue to raise funds and awareness for youths experiencing homelessness. In the last 9 years Phi Gamma Delta has raised over $25,000 for Jackson Street! Incredible!!

Given the rotating nature of fraternity membership on campus, it is impressive that the young men of FIJI continue to steadfastly and consistently support, year after year, Jackson Street’s outreach to at-risk youth in our community. So we want to publicly acknowledge and honor FIJI’s remarkable efforts. Thank you, FIJI members!
