HYDE PARK HAPPENINGS!!
1.) The Hyde Park Farmer's Market is back! Every Sunday from 9:30-1pm shop for fresh fruits and  veggies and have fun! The Spicy Olive opens at 9:30 and offers samples of one of our delicious recipes outside of our store!

2.) Wine Walk Wednesday's are BACK!!
 Come out to Hyde Park Square on the 2nd Wednesday of June, July, August and September to have fun and raise money for charity. The Spicy Olive will be open until 9pm and will have snacks and wine while you shop! What could be better than that!
 
WEST CHESTER & AUSTIN LANDING EVENTS!!
 The Spicy Olive will be at The Carriage Hill Home Expo on June 10, 2017. Melanie Cedargren will do cooking demos in the Pendragon model home and talk about what to know when purchasing olive oil at 1pm. This event is sponsored by the West Chester Liberty Lifestyle magazine.

The Spicy Olive will also be at the Town and Country Shopping Center in Kettering Ohio the second Saturday of each month. We will be sampling & selling  our delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars!

The Spicy Olive's Summer Sipper 
1-2 teaspoons The Spicy Olive's Cara Cara Orange Vanilla, Peach, Sicilian Lemon, Cranberry Pear, Grapefruit, Lemongrass Mint,  Gravenstein Apple or our new Cascadian Raspberry white balsamic vinegar
Fill cocktail glass with ice and seltzer water. Add balsamic vinegar of choice and a splash of fruit juice if desired ( Orange juice with Cara Cara Orange Vanilla, Cranberry juice with Cranberry Pear, lemon juice with Sicilian Lemon etc)
Stir and enjoy. Add more balsamic vinegar to taste.
To make this an adult beverage add sparkling wine or vodka. You can add white rum to the Lemongrass Mint balsamic to make a Mojito!
A low calorie, refreshing, healthy drink! A healthy, low calorie  alternative to soda pop! (3 grams of sugar and 10 calories per Tbsp of balsamic vinegar)


The Spicy Olive's Blackberry Ginger Pork Tenderloin 
One of our most popular recipes featuring the flavors of the month for June!
1/4 cup The Spicy Olive's Garlic olive oil
1/4 cup The Spicy Olive's Blackberry Ginger balsamic vinegar
2 pork tenderloins
1 tsp. minced garlic
fresh blackberries for garnish
Place the pork tenderloins in a zip lock bag. Add the minced garlic, Blackberry Ginger balsamic vinegar and Garlic olive oil. Allow to marinate overnight.
Grill or bake to internal temperature of 155-165 degrees. Allow to rest for 10 minutes. Slice on the diagonal and serve drizzled with Blackberry Ginger balsamic and fresh blackberries.

The Spicy Olive's Red, White and Blue Salad
A salad made for Memorial Day weekend or the 4th of July!
1 package mixed greens with spinach
1 package strawberries, sliced
1 package blueberries, washed
5 oz. crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup almond slivers,toasted
Dressing:
1/4 cup The Spicy Olive's Strawberry balsamic vinegar or our Wild Blueberry balsamic or the 2 mixed together for a very berry taste
1/4 cup The Spicy Olive's Lemon or Basil olive oil
Whisk the olive oil and vinegar together.
Place the greens in a salad serving bowl. Top with strawberries, blueberries, feta and almonds. Pour dressing over salad. Toss until coated and serve.

Amber Tipton's class in April was so informative and everyone loved it so she will lead another class in June!
Amber is so passionate about spreading her knowledge of baking without gluten! This class will include gluten free egg sandwich buns, a Citrus Scented olive oil cake and how to make gluten free pasta!
