Box of alpaca socks

Salut,

Memorial Day this weekend is the official start of the Summer activities with openings of the country homes, the seasonal restaurants, the wearing of sunscreen and straw hats. It is also time to do the definite change in the closet with putting away heavier clothing and bringing out the Summer dresses, the short sleeves and the “no-sleeves”.

Linen, the fabric of Summer.

And cotton is not far behind. Light linen is breezy, dries quickly, absorbs moisture but if a downpour is predicted bring an umbrella. I love linen but its capacity to absorb water can turn it wet fast, especially when light, but it dries in a flash, on a hot day that is very cooling.

And rayon, a versatile fabric, ideal for a special occasion or when you just want to look good while going about your business, because it looks elegant effortlessly. Equally good to go to the theatre, a garden party or the farmer’s market.

Open on Memorial Day, May 25th from 10 to 4.

Open: 10am to 4pm every day, except Tuesday. Closed Tues.

But starting June 1st: open every day 10 to 4.

We will try these Summer hours, hoping you will be at the rendez-vous now on Tuesday too.

First Friday of each month open till 7pm. The next one is Friday, June 5th.

Peace,

Francoise
