Dear Friend and Neighbor:

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the spectacular mothers of our community on this beautiful Mother's Day. In our community, unfortunately, many mothers are left to carry the full burden of raising our children, while working hard to provide for them as well. We should honor them every day for this work that often goes unacknowledged, but today we are especially grateful.

To the mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers, your efforts are a key ingredient in making boys and girls, women and men, the great people they grow to become. Your guidance, care, knowledge and love brightens our world every day, as there are few who could ever matter more in our lives.

To my own mother and those throughout the world, thank you and Happy Mother's Day!
