Youth Sunday, May 19th, 2024 followed by Wisdom Lunch!

We cordially invite all elders of the congregation to a luncheon on Sunday, May 5th, 2024 after the 10:30 a.m. service to join our youth for conversation and a meal. Church is one of the few places where the generations mix. Long-time parishioner Elizabeth “Sister” Cherry will turn 102 on June 2nd. Sister now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado near her daughter. For the last few years Good Shepherd has encouraged birthday cards which Sister loves to receive. Her address is 2317 Northridge Ct, Fort Collins, CO 80531

Sunday, May 19th: Youth Sunday and Wisdom Lunch

The youth will help lead worship at the 10:30 a.m. service on May 19th, the Feast of Pentecost. Please contact Lawrence Goering at lgoering@goodshepherdrmt.org or 252-442-1134, ext. 5 if you would like to participate. There is space available for youth to play musical instruments, read lessons, lead the prayers, serve as greeters or ushers, and possibly serve in other ways. The younger children who participate in Children's Chapel will be sent information about how they can participate in Youth Sunday as well. We hope to have many youth participate in this service!

Immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service youth age 9 to 18 are invited to participate in the annual Wisdom Lunch on Sunday, May 19. Youth will eat a catered lunch with senior members of our congregation. This is a fun tradition at Good Shepherd that youth and seniors always enjoy. Please email brenningj@gmail.com if your child/teen is interested in joining us.

Sunday, June 2nd: Popsicles in the Park 

Good Shepherd will partner with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church to offer social activities for youth this summer. Please join us for popsicles and playtime at the St. Andrew’s playground on Sunday, June 2nd from 2 - 4 p.m. All ages are welcome!

Sunday, July 14th: Youth Bowling Party

Good Shepherd, St. Andrew’s and First Presbyterian youth will meet at Rocky Mount Bowling Center. Time TBD. All ages are welcome!

Mozart Festival in Tarboro

Fostering Animals in Need

Would you have room in your heart and home to temporarily foster an animal in need? Sometimes, all that's needed is just a little time to get the dog or cat to his new home. Shelter Donations

The United Community Shelters need twin XL sheets (only twin XL as regular twin sheets don't fit their mattresses), kitchen towels and dish- cloths, cleaning supplies, and new bed pillows. A basket to collect items will be in the Narthex. Thank you for your support of this ministry.
