Adopt-a-Mom campaign helps single moms on Mother's Day and throughout the year

For single mom Juana Hulin, the past few years have been filled with challenges. Hulin was diagnosed with stage four cancer in April 2015, just one month after she and her three daughters, ages 13, 12, and 9, had moved into a new home.

2017 Spring Campaign Update

On April 27th, STA affiliates across the nation kicked off a one month campaign to raise awareness and funds for U.S. military women re-entering civilian life.  

To date we have raised over 6K for this unique foundation for education and aim to raise more at the event listed below and from online donations.

StandUp Ventures starts new fund for women-led seed-stage companies

Stephany LaPierre didn’t think of herself as a female founder until she tried to raise venture capital for her tech startup, Tealbook. A successful serial entrepreneur whose grandmother and mother were also entrepreneurs, LaPierre never anticipated that being a woman would be seen as a disadvantage in starting a technology company — until investors made it clear it was.

Bank of America addresses gender pay gap issue at annual meeting

Bank of America Corp.  (NYSE:BAC) shareholders approved all four management proposals at the bank’s annual shareholder meeting in Charlotte Wednesday morning. No shareholder proposals were approved, including a request for a report on gender pay equity.

    New York City just took a major step toward equal pay

    The day after  Equal Pay Day , New York City took a major step toward salary equity.  The New York City Council passed a bill on Wednesday that makes it illegal for employers to ask for potential employees' salary histories — a milestone in the fight for equal pay.
