"There is no greater joy than that of feeling oneself a creator.
The triumph of life is expressed by creation."
- Henri Bergson

Wet
Felting Project Batt
This clean, carded
batt is the perfect foundation for a nice wall hanging, display
rug or other large wet felting project.
The batt is 30" wide x 60" long and approximately
1 LB. At 29.5 micron, it wet felts well and produce a felt
of medium stiffness. We like it for laying color on top to make
a stiff vessel, stiff wall-hanging or other wet felted project.
Use
it to create one large wall hanging, two 30" x 30"
hangings, four 15" x 15" hangings, or double it up
for added thickness and stiffness.
Merino
Top in: Honey,
Apricot,
Tangerine
& Marigold
These would make gorgeous contributions
to your
next shawl, scarf, table runner, felted flower and more!
This is a lovely 22
micron merino top (very smooth and soft) and
is perfect for your wet felting projects and also some needle
felted projects.
Our Studio
Packs are GREAT for getting a variety of color into your felting
pallette.

cross batt packs

"Since being inspired by the chickadees
in your Jan.
14th newsletter, I have been learning how to needle felt by
working on my favorite birds. Here is my version of a chickadee,
tufted titmouse, and nuthatch. I used core
wool, merino
top, New
Zealand Corriedale in black,
honey,
and red,
along with some wool from my local shepherdess friends.
I just placed another order to stock my stash with more bird colors!
Thanks for your wonderful products!"

"Just thought I'd share with you.
My fiancee is organizing the Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild runway
show this year and the theme is "Birds of a Feather Flock Together"
and she's asked if I could create 6 birds for centerpieces for the
show. Picture #1 is the first of these birds and my very first felting
creation.
I built a jig to simplify (and standardize) the construction of
the birds' legs. I used chenille stems for this armature, but in
future I'll probably use wire coat hangers for the added strength.
These are to be somewhat whimsical birds, so I thought I'd add hearts
for eyes and bought a pack of 50 heart brads in 6 colors. The brads
were originally flat paint, so I made a card, inserted all of them
and sprayed them with a high-gloss clear acrylic spray.
I built the body of natural wool roving, added the colors and used
a narrow awl to glue the legs and heart eyes in place. I've developed
ideas for a total of 18 birds, but may not build them all, since
they need to be ready by June 1."
