Greetings Friend!
As Mother’s Day approaches this year, I remember my very first year as a mother. My nine month old daughter was seriously ill and we spent Mother’s Day that year by her side in the hospital. I was so scared that she would be permanently damaged by the infection raging in her. Fortunately we had access to a hospital and good medical care and she completely recovered, but that event left me feeling vulnerable and worried. Today I’m just as worried, but this time it’s for our beloved Mother Earth. Will she be healthy enough to support life when my great grandchildren are born?
As Elders, we care deeply about future generations and many of us now have the time to act on their behalf. I hope you’ll join me in standing by the bedside of our beloved planet, advocating for her healthy recovery and working to make sure that she is able to provide a sustainable home for generations to come.
For the grandchildren, future generations and all life,
