Happy Mothers Day to the Greatest Mother of All, Earth.

Greetings Friend!

As Mother’s Day approaches this year, I remember my very first year as a mother. My nine month old daughter was seriously ill and we spent Mother’s Day that year by her side in the hospital. I was so scared that she would be permanently damaged by the infection raging in her. Fortunately we had access to a hospital and good medical care and she completely recovered, but that event left me feeling vulnerable and worried. Today I’m just as worried, but this time it’s for our beloved Mother Earth. Will she be healthy enough to support life when my great grandchildren are born?

As Elders, we care deeply about future generations and many of us now have the time to act on their behalf. I hope you’ll join me in standing by the bedside of our beloved planet, advocating for her healthy recovery and working to make sure that she is able to provide a sustainable home for generations to come.

For the grandchildren, future generations and all life,
Margo Frank

Thank You to everyone who gave in honor of their grandchildren, future generations, and all life this Earth Day.
My husband Bob and I took the opportunity to join and participate in the Elders Climate Action Day in Washington, DC. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we have made. We were trained as citizen lobbyists and took messages to Members of Congress (MOC). Sometimes it feels like MOC make all the decisions and after this experience, we know and feel that citizen input and citizens visitations to Congress are definitely powerful. It was extremely empowering and in addition to that, we have made life-long friends. When our grandchildren ask: What did you do? We can proudly say that we represented them through ECAD! Thank you!

Join us in D.C. June 25 - 27
Register now for Elders Climate Action Day and you will be a part of a powerful movement of elders who make a difference in climate change.
As elders we are going to Washington, D.C.once again to send our message to every member of Congress. We will spend two days at American University listening to inspirational speakers, re-engaging with our role as an elder and gaining the tools to strengthen our climate action movement. We will go to Capitol Hill in small teams and deliver our written message to all 535 Members of Congress in our green ECA shirts and hats which will be provided to every participant at the gathering. We elders will be recognized on the Hill, not as lobbyists but as elders, parents and grandparents, concerned about the future of our planet. This year is critical and could be a turning point as we move towards November 6th election.

The time is now. We are already experiencing the consequences of climate change. It is our responsibility as elders to do all we can to preserve the planet for our grandchildren, future generations and all life. You will go home with new tools and strategies to utilize in your home district.
Send a Letter to Your Representatives Seeking Re-Election and Let Them Know We Demand Climate Action!
We've created a letter you can send to the members of the House of Representatives from your state. Let them know that you are a climate voter in 2018, and only plan to re-elect those taking climate action.
