Lend a Hand, Make a Difference - Tom's Volunteer Journey

In honor of National Volunteer Month, we’d like to honor Tom, a long-time volunteer and admirable member of our Habitat family. For the past 3 years, Tom has generously dedicated 40 hours of his time every single week helping customers and staff in our ReStore. After putting in over 6,000 hours of volunteer work, Tom has recently decided to settle down and move back east to be with his family. Despite him hanging up his apron, Tom hopes to be an inspiration to others, encouraging everyone to seek out volunteer opportunities in our community 💙

Fishing for a Brighter Future - Gregory's Story

Transitioning from military service to civilian life can be a daunting challenge. Yet, for 67-year-old veteran, Gregory Scott, it became a journey of unwavering determination. After spending 30 years camping on the riverbeds of Yuba City, Gregory recounts his experience and talks about the resources that led him to finding affordable housing. He hopes his story inspires other veterans in our community to seek out help.

Did you know that Habitat for Humanity Yuba/Sutter offers an affordable home repair program for low-income homeowners in Yuba City? That's right! Cooking Up Healthy Habits at Harmony Village

Earlier this month, Blue Zones Project Yuba Sutter, The Yuba Sutter Food Bank, and Adventist Health & Rideout partnered with us to host a healthy cooking class for our residents at Harmony Village. Many of our tenants expressed enthusiasm for learning a simple, affordable recipe while also discovering new ways to incorporate healthy options into their diets.

Through our Cars for Homes Program, you can donate your old car, boat, motorcycle, RV, or other vehicle to help build homes for local families in need. We accept all vehicles whether they are running or not and towing is completely FREE. Just be sure to mention that your donation is intended for our Yuba/Sutter Habitat location, so we can receive the full benefit of your support!
