Words of Wellness Wisdom
from Susan Greeley, MS, RDN, National Director, Wellness Services

We're just over a month into the new year, and for many of us, the resolutions and goals we had in mind last month have already faded from memory!

This first newsletter of 2020 is all about taking action and helping you reset and renew both mind and body! Who doesn't need some mid-winter motivation to not only set your personal health goals but to also engage in activities, such as health coaching and mindfulness practices, that help you achieve them?

In addition, it's always a good time to cook more and "eat better." If you don't own an immersion blender, you'll want to invest in one and then test out the recipes I've included. You'll be thankful you did!

We are also continually looking for and adding new "Affinity Partners" to offer you exceptional products and services that support your health and well-being. Be sure to check them out!

For insight and motivation, read how you can set and achieve your goals in 2020.

February is National Heart Month

We hear so many negative (and even downright depressing) statistics about cardiovascular disease and what NOT to do. Yet by switching our mindset to a positive approach, it's perhaps easier to make lifestyle changes that support your health.

Susan's Spicy
Butternut Squash Soup

This is a spicy, feel-good soup that tastes decadent, yet it's light and what I’d call an “anti-inflammatory powerhouse”!

Heart-Healthy (Vegan)

Just in time for Valentine's Day!
Since February is dedicated to cardiovascular health and prevention, here is a way to have your chocolate and benefit your heart too! This is a rich, decadent, and “guilt-free” option for anyone looking for a plant-based chocolate dessert.

Pasta e Fagioli

Colder temperatures make us crave warm bowls of soups and stews. Here's a simple and delicious way to get a filling "comfort food" meal that's packed with protein, fiber, and phytonutrients!
