Thank You for a Record-Setting Year
2017 was a recording setting year for the Iowa Women's Foundation that brought a new commitment to grow our impact, resources, and capacity to shatter the barriers to women's economic self-sufficiency - all because of volunteers, donors, and advocates like you.
Thanks to your dedication and support, in 2017, we...
- Funded 15 projects totaling $110,000 - a new record!
- Established the Child Care Collaboration Fund to enhance our ability to invest in programs that decrease the work force gap through access to quality, affordable child care.
- Began collaborating with business leaders, policy makers, and key players to shatter the child care barrier in communities across Iowa.
- Started work to develop a Legacy Fund to ensure we can continue funding worthy organizations and programs for years to come.
- Expanded our staff and capabilities by hiring a new Assistant Director, Ann Parker.
Together, in 2018 and beyond, we can continue to grow IWF's impact and make Iowa a place where ALL women and girls have an equal chance to lead happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. Because when Iowa's women and girls succeed, our businesses thrive, our communities flourish, and Iowa wins.

Honor a Woman in Your Life
We're back with IWF's signature publication, Ovation: A Tribute to Iowa Women and Girls.
Every year, Ovation provides a fun and unique opportunity to celebrate a women or girl in your life through personalized "tributes." These tributes can be sponsored by friends, colleagues, family members, community members, or anyone who would like to thank a women or girl who has made an impact in their lives.
Through these tributes, we call attention to the incredible and deeply important ways these women affect their friends, families, communities, and professions. Ovation also serves as a critical part of IWF's operating funds and enables us to accomplish our mission of improving the lives of Iowa's women and girls. This year's deadline for submissions is 5 PM, March 30, 2018.
The 2018 unveiling ceremonies will take place early May. Watch for specifics on our website and Facebook page. Click

Celebrating National Mentoring Month
January was #NationalMentoringMonth and IWF celebrated with a special contest on Facebook, as well as a guest blog series called Why I Mentor. Our Executive Director Dawn Oliver Wiand kicked things off with a blog about her experience as a mentor, joining leaders like Charity Tyler, Executive Director for the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation, and Dr. Nancy Muecke, CEO Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.

Share Your Voice, Your Talent, Your Heart
Behind every woman and girl whose life is improved through an IWF grant, is a woman or girl who cared enough to take action.
Making a donation isn't the only way that you can help Iowa's women and girls. The Iowa Women's Foundation is always looking for volunteers to lend their skills and passion to help our organization make the biggest impact possible.
We rely on volunteers, committee members, and our various Boards to accomplish our many goals. Whether you want to lend your professional expertise to one of our committees, help plan or work an event, or give us an occasional hand around the office - you can make a difference.
Contact Ann Parker at
