Classes & Activity Highlights
Easter Egg Hunt

Join us for this free event with the Easter Bunny! There will be arts & crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and an egg hunt! Areas will be roped off into four different age categories: 2 & younger, 3 - 4, 5 - 6, and 7 & older. Plastic eggs will be hidden throughout the park filled with candy and assorted goodies! Please have children bring their own baskets and parents bring your cameras! This event is on Saturday, April 20 from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the Community Park on 1021 Harvard Way. No registration required.

Aqua-Egg Hunt
 
The Aqua Bunny will be hopping into El Dorado Hills Aquatic Area to visit the boys and girls! TheAqua-Egg Hunt will begin 30 minutes after the events start. Plastic eggs will be drifting throughout the pool and will be redeemed for candy and assorted special goodies! This event will be on Saturday, April 20 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Community Pool. Aquatic staff will be on hand to answer questions about summer swim lessons, masters swim, special events, and other Aquatics programs this summer. Here you will learn about water safety, play games, and public swim will be open! This event is free and open to the public. No registration required.

Do You Know Sacramento?

Join us on a remarkable historical tour of Sacramento! Individuals 50 and older are invited to enjoy a relaxing ride through the city, stopping at unique sites along the way while being informed by world traveler Gary Holoway regarding unheard of California details and history! This excursion will happen on Wednesday, April 17 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM and is $69 per person. Finish the day off with a delightful riverfront view at Rio City Café for lunch! Sign up  here.

Fashion Camp

Isabel Azam offers ages 8 and older an opportunity to gain insight into the fashion industry from original inspiration research, concept board creation, fashion illustration, material sourcing, and sewing a basic garment! Beginners are welcome and projects will be based on experience. Sign up for this camp  here.

Crazy Chemworks

Instructors from Mad Science Staff will be here to help your kids learn new, fun, and exciting things about chemistry! From reactions to solutions, and maybe even Dalmatians (just kidding) there will be so much fun and learning the camp will fly by! Sign up for this camp  here .

Science Rockstars

Instructors from Mad Science Staff will be here to help your child rock with science and wow the crowd with cool potions and chemical reactions! Grow your own crystals, make sidewalk chalk, and a chromatography t-shirt to keep! This camp is fun for everyone and offers a great selection of scientific experiments. Sign up for this camp  here .

2018-19 Sustainability Project
 
Construction of solar panels at Community Park on 1021 Harvard Way and Promontory Community Park on 2700 Alexandra Way started on Monday, December 3, 2018. Construction currently impacts the parking lots at Community Park between Norm Rowett Pavilion and Teen Center as well as the Parks Building on 1021 St. Andrews Drive. The Harvard Way entrance will be locked daily from 10:00 PM - 8:30 AM until the construction project is completed. The tentative completion date of the solar project is June 15, 2019, and there is a Grand Re-Opening scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, 2019! Click here for current updates on the project.  Click here  for current updates on the project.

Bass Lake Regional Park Project

The District wants your opinion! Community input is encouraged as the District begins developing designs and preliminary ideas for the recently purchased Bass Lake land. The first draft of designs includes walking and multi-use paths, lit sports fields, all abilities playground, and a disc golf course. The District welcomes ideas and suggestions from neighbors and organizations who want to help make this park a reality. Please email your suggestions to EDHCSD Parks and Planning Director, Tauni Fessler, at

Summer Camp Jobs

Come spend your summer playing at the District and get paid for it! We are seeking mature, responsible, positive role models who enjoy working with elementary aged children and teens in a recreation based camp. These job openings are for our KydZonE Extreme Summer Day Camp, Skate Park, and Teen Camp. Please have your applications in no later than Friday, April 12, 2019. Experience as a camp counselor or experience with children is a plus, preference may be given to those who meet the minimum age requirement or those entering their senior year of high school.  Apply here.

Community Pool Season Discount

Get your 2019 Summer Season Pass by Tuesday, April 30, 2019, and save over $90! Buy a Family Pass now or only $99 or an Individual Pass for just $40. Membership includes admission to the Community Pool for recreation swim, swim lesson discounts, use of Kiddy Pool during lessons, and morning lap swim.
