PROJECT SENIORS

Project Seniors Brings Holiday Magic to Silvercrest 🎄

Christmas cheer filled every corner of Silvercrest Senior Residence on December 19, thanks to our Project Seniors Program! Managed by The Salvation Army, Silvercrest is home to more than 100 residents—and for one joyful afternoon, it felt like one big holiday party. Working hand-in-hand with the wonderful Silvercrest staff, we hosted a festive Christmas celebration complete with a delicious hot lunch.

Carolyn Pfaffenberger, Chair of Project Seniors, and her twelve amazing volunteers (elves) kept the celebration running smoothly. Funding for this heartwarming event came from a grant from the Escondido Community Foundation. The room buzzed with conversation, laughter, and connection as residents sat together enjoying the food and holiday sing-along

Celebrating Success

We are thrilled to share the incredible results of our Giving Tuesday campaign! Thanks to your generosity and enthusiasm, we raised our highest amount ever: as of this writing, $26,500 after expenses. The buildup of our team with fresh ideas, along with the addition of a Matching Donor, contributed to our success. We hope to provide funds for our Outreach program for the first time in five years. Thank you for making Giving Tuesday a remarkable success. We genuinely appreciate your commitment and look forward to working together to make an even greater difference in the future!

Assisteens®

Teens giving back

Assisteens were celebrating the holidays with lots of giving to others! At their meeting on Dec. 1st, the teens went shopping in our Thrift Shop for $250 worth of items for the Holiday Market at Rock Springs School. In addition, 50 holiday bags were filled with essentials and delivered by Project Senior volunteers to residents at Valley Senior Village. Three truckloads of donated food were delivered to the Interfaith Pantry.
