The Sonora Open House Experience
We are busy preparing for an Open House Experience. This is a time when we open our doors so that people across our area and others have the opportunity to peak into all of the academic possibilities at our school. We want anyone attending this event to see themselves attending Sonora High School and having great educational experiences just like you, this is why we have the "I am Sonora" Campaign. We want prospective students to see themselves as Raiders in IB/Honors, our CTE Program, sports teams and just seeing themselves walking the halls of our school. We invite you to invite anyone who might be interested in this Place of Excellence in Education to attend our Open House. We will have a special tab and the link posted on our website for everyone to join. We look forward to seeing them at our Open House because "We are Sonora"!!
How Did You Do?
Semester grades were your official grades that were recorded on your transcripts. Students and parents may log into the Aeries Parent Portal to view their latest grades. If you have any trouble accessing your Aeries account, please contact Elizabeth Moreno or Monica Lopez.

Calling All Alumni
In an effort to recognize the vast accomplishments of our Sonora High School Alumni, and those who have made an impact at Sonora and throughout our community, a "Hall of Fame" has been established. A Hall of Fame nominee should be successful in their career and be involved in their community.  Please complete the following Digital Nomination Form to nominate your candidate or download the form HERE.

Sonora High School prides itself on its legacy and the individuals that have contributed to making Sonora the incredible place we've grown to love.  We are proud to announce that we are cultivating a Walk of Fame and are in the process of accepting photos to include for our newest endeavor as we aim to honor and highlight our past Raiders. Stick Your Landing

On January 1st of each year James, my son, and I go down to the beach to just be thankful for the last year and look forward to the year coming. This year when we arrived at the shore he immediately took his shoes and socks off and began running off of the little bank of sand. He did this about 50 times with just as much joy and vigor as the time before. To begin he backed up as far as possible, then would start pumping his arms running as fast as possible and grunting as if the sounds that he was making would propel him further in the air. He would then leap as high as possible in the air. Once he landed there was laughter and joy as he rolled in the sand with such a relief that he finially landed. The quietest part of this process was the point that is captured in this picture, the middle or the highest point. There is a feeling of silence, uncertanity and weightlessness that is at this point. Perhaps it is at this point that he had the greatest concentration because he had the least amount of control.

It is at this point that I thought of our Raider community. We are in the middle of the school year. You have worked really hard to get to this point. We are at our highest point, the middle of our leap in the school year. You are encouraged to continue to focus and work hard so that you can land at a place at the end of the school year of joy and laughter. When someone says to "Stick your Landing", they mean to acommplish (finish) an extrordinary feat successfully. We all want you to look back on this school year in May and be proud of what you have done and how far you have come academically. Through all of the challenges that you may have faced this year, Stick Your Landing!!

If you need some time to refocus, then please know there are Virtual Calming Rooms that you can use. Please click this link to access them: Virtual Calming Rooms.

You can do this Raiders!!
