VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Meredith Clark

Occupation? Director of Community Investment and Partner Relations at United Way of Greater Chattanooga

How did you become involved with United Way's Emerging Leaders?
I became involved with the Emerging Leaders when I worked in the Resource Development department at United Way. Through my role in the Resource Development department I was able to help with the planning and development of the Emerging Leaders. Through a lot of hard work with our committee of EL volunteers we have been able to grow the Emerging Leaders group over the years. It has been a fun way to meet members of Emerging Leaders and provide an avenue for young professionals to give back to the community.

What organizations are you involved with in Chattanooga? In addition to the Emerging Leaders, I am on the YMCA's Youth Leadership Chattanooga Committee, a mentor with tnAchieves and am active at my church, First Presbyterian Church.

What are your interests outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going on trips with my husband and taking the time to slow down to go on a walk or read a good book.

Additional  highlights you would like others to know? I was  born and raised in Chattanooga and feel blessed to live in a wonderful community that I love so much!

Help us improve!
We are constantly working with companies, individuals and engaged volunteers to make this group and the benefits received more meaningful and impactful!
It takes us all to grow and improve and we want YOUR feedback.  A short survey will be sent out for you to complete.  This will give YOU the opportunity to share your thoughts on how we can improve the experience of being an Emerging Leader.  So make sure to be on the lookout for our survey coming you way next week!
Santa's Workshop recap!
The 2016 holiday season may have come to a close but the happiness and joy the families received through Northside Neighborhood House's Santa's Workshop is still very alive!  Emerging Leaders came out in numbers to show support for Santa's Workshop.  Three hours of diligent organizing, sorting and hard work paid off more than we could of imagined.  Hundreds of families and children were served through this amazing event.  Follow this link to our Facebook page to see the pictures!
