PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Happy New Year NTMCA,

I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing holiday! It is off to the races for 2024, as City Clerks we have a lot going on in January.

Do you make New Year's resolutions? I often have a list of several resolutions, only to find that they sit on my white board or in my planner all year without a second thought. We get busy at work, juggling family and filling up the calendar with appointments and activities. This year, while enjoying the quiet between the day after Christmas and New Year's Eve, I came across an article that said, instead of setting lofty resolutions, focus on what you are spending your time on daily. Use intention to change your daily habits and you will find that your resolutions fall into place. It sounds so simply, but it makes so much sense!

My hope for our Chapter this year is that we learn, lead, grow and connect with intention, and that as a chapter we can focus on our goals and continue to foster a meaningful sense of community and camaraderie.

Warm Regards,

Shelley Scazzero

City Secretary

NTMCA President

NTMCA Quarterly Recap

In November, NTMCA met in Krum. Mayor Rhonda Harris welcomed the chapter and Police Chief Terry Hargis led a discussion on workplace safety.

We had a great turn out at our December Holiday party at Diamond Oaks Country Club in Haltom City. Thank you Art Camacho and Mayor Truong for the hospitality. What a great way to end a busy and successful year.

Alyce Deering Scholarship Holiday Auction

Many thanks to Traci Henderson for coordinating the silent auction and all the members and sponsors that donated. We had quite the bidding wars on some great auction items! The silent auction raised $860 for our scholarship fund, for a grand total of $990 including the cash raffle. Way to go NTMCA!
