Grand Rapids Young Professionals
January Newsletter

2017 was a great year for GRYP! We met so many great young professionals at Unwinds, Happy Hours, Meet the Board, Trivia Nights, our annual Gala, community service events, and so much more. Thank you to everyone that joined us at events throughout the year! Cheers to a new year, new resolutions (hopefully to go to more GRYP events), and to all of you - our members - because without you, 2017 couldn't have been the successful year it was. Happy New Year, GRYP!

Featured Member: Mark Kloet

We decided kick off the new year by bringing back the "Featured Member", because that's what GRYP is really all about: Our members!

Mark Kloet, who regularly attends all different types of GRYP events, is this month's Featured Member. Keep an eye out at upcoming events and introduce yourself!

We asked Mark a few questions and here's what he had to say:

Tell us a little about yourself.
I try to hang out and do as much with my friends as possible. Whether it's game night, movies, or just going out downtown.
I also am avid sports enthusiast. I love watching and going to games when I can. Friday night Griffins games are always a blast.  I also, maybe, entirely, watch way to many TV shows in my spare time.

Why did you join GRYP?
I've pretty much have lived in the area my entire life and wanted to expand beyond my normal social circle.
Also, to help me grow and and help me with getting better in social situations.

What's your favorite event?
I love trivia night. I usually go into it as a single and it opens up to meeting different people. And it's fun to see what random information your teammates have.

How long have you been a member?
I have been doing events for over 2 years now.

What area of work are you in?
I do accounting at Kentwood Office Furniture.

Anything else you'd like to add?
If your new/on the fence about coming to more events please do. I've met a lot of great people over the years.
And plus who doesn't enjoy grabbing a drink and meeting new people?
