Happy New Year!

The Friends Eldora Open House was a great success, and it was nice to see all the smiling visitors enjoying the day; the face painting, games, and music were delightful. The parades were awesome, thanks to our Parade Diva Ranger Michell and special thanks to Tobi the Turtle and Superintendent Carmen for joining in the fun!

We had so many successes this year with the help of our Friends of Canaveral and our Volunteers-In-Parks. We employed a youth intern maintenance crew who provided Jr. Angler programs for the third year, and the Coastal Christmas and the Adopt a Sea Turtle Nest were great fundraisers!

Friends of Canaveral would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended our Annual Eldora Open House!

We were thrilled to see such a large turnout and we hope that you all enjoyed the event as much as we did. The homemade baked goods were a hit, and we were delighted to see so many people taking part in the crafts and face-painting activities. It was great to see even some adults having fun with the face painting!

We would like to thank all of our volunteers who helped to make this event a success. We couldn't have done it without you. We hope to see you all again at our future events!

Dear Members,

It is that time of the year to start our annual Friends of Canaveral 2023 Membership Drive. We thank you for your support over the past years. With your help, including volunteer hours, we have been able to:

• Continue our support of the Jr Anglers Program,
• Continue our support of the Women in Parks Program,
• Sponsor the Artist in Residency Sound Ecology Program,
• Provide transportation for Boys & Girls Club event,
• Fund the OnCell Audio Media Tour,
• Fund the Parks Christmas Float program,
• Provide for the Park Volunteer awards luncheon,
• Provide for the UCF Student luncheon,
• Provide for the Doris Leeper Day event,
• Purchase a beach vehicle for Park Staff,
• And fund the Opens House of Eldora and Seminole Rest.

We enjoyed our open house events and hope you have, too. We are continuing the programs and events; however, we need your help to make it happen.
