Happy New Year!
As we step into 2024, I am thrilled about the opportunities ahead to continue our vital work in keeping pets and people together. Reflecting on our accomplishments in 2023 fills me with pride, and I'm energized by the prospect of making an even greater impact throughout the coming year.
It's disheartening to note that homelessness escalated by 12% nationwide in 2022, leading to an increasing number of individuals, including many with pets, falling into this unfortunate reality. This surge has significantly elevated our workload, underscoring the pressing need for your support.
Older adults in the United States are now at a higher risk of homelessness than ever before. The lack of affordable housing, stagnating pensions and social security, coupled with soaring real estate taxes, is pushing many homeowners toward homelessness. Alarmingly, sixty-two percent of our emergency veterinary cases are initiated by women experiencing homelessness, with over 4% of these cases involving individuals over 65 years old. Together, we helped over 1,600 pets in 2023.
Let's embark on 2024 with a collective commitment to drive meaningful change.
This year, you can contribute to saving pets' lives by initiating an automatic monthly donation.
Your support has the power to transform the lives of both pets and their owners. Join us in our mission to safeguard the well-being of pets and the people who cherish them.
Be a part of our mission to save pets.
May your life be full of health, love, and prosperity in 2024,
