Welcoming Biathletes to CNSC!!

We are excited to host the IBU Regional Event and the 2025 Biathlon Canada Youth/Junior World Championship Trials from January 3–7, 2025!

Join us in extending a warm welcome to the athletes and support teams as they compete at this exciting event. We wish all participants the best of luck and look forward to an incredible week of biathlon action!

Please note that while competition trails will be in use, all other trails will remain open to members throughout the event.

Youth Ski Free

What an incredible Youth Ski for Free Day today! A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us—whether it was your first time, you found your way to the firepit, cruised the route, or explored the stadium area. We had a blast seeing new faces and familiar ones!

Nova Northern Night:

Women’s Recreational Ski Night

Join us every Friday from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM(ish) starting January 3rd for a fun and adventurous women’s ski night!

Details:

• Meeting Time: 7:15 PM in the lodge office
• Location: Starting from the lodge
• Requirements: Membership or Day Pass required (no registration needed)
• Rentals: Available in the rental shop (arrive 30 minutes early for fitting)
• Temperature Cut-off: -20°C (with or without windchill)
• Trails: Ski outside lit trails—bring your headlight!

What to Expect:

• A weekly ski night designed for women to improve skills, explore winter nights, and enjoy the outdoors.
• Après Ski Social: Relax in the lodge after skiing, connect with others, and make new friends in a welcoming environment.
• Technique Focus: Alternates weekly between Skate and Classic skiing. Participants should be comfortable skiing Tear Drop trail using the night’s technique.
• No-Drop Group: Everyone starts and finishes together. Leaders guide the group and plan routes (lessons not included).

What to Bring:

• Headlight (essential for unlit trails)
• Weather-appropriate clothing (no cotton)
• Warm socks, mitts, buff, and toque

Stay updated on weekly techniques or cancellations via our website, Instagram, and Facebook. Changes will be posted by 2:00 PM on the day of the event.

Seniors Explore More Program Returns!

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Seniors/55+ Ski and Snowshoe Programs for the 2025 season! Whether you’re a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, there’s something for everyone.

Classic Cross-Country Ski Lessons & Guided Tours

• Dates: Mondays – January 13 (Lesson), January 20, 27, February 3 (Guided Tours)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM, with a social in the lodge from 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM
• Cost: $10 for all 4 weeks (a $125 value!)
• Non-Members: Half-priced trail passes ($12.50) and rentals ($10.00) available

Enjoy one lesson tailored to your skill level followed by three guided tours, led by CANSI-certified instructors and senior volunteers.

Guided Snowshoe Tours

• Dates: Wednesdays – January 15, 22, 29, February 5
• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM, with a cozy social from 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM
• Cost: $7.50 for all 4 weeks
• Non-Members: Half-priced trail passes ($5.00) and rentals ($6.00) available

Explore the beauty of winter with our experienced snowshoe leaders, with groups to match all fitness levels.
