Congratulations!
Illine Davila and Carolyn Beame
you earned the
2022 Volunteer of the Year Awards!
Please congratulate Illine Davila and Carolyn Beame on receiving the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove's 2022 Volunteer of the Year Awards. It was a very hard choice with all the amazing volunteers we have in our Club.
These two individuals were chosen for their tireless support of the Executive Board which meant being available to the President whenever needed throughout the summer and the fall. They were both the proverbial “pair of wings” that did whatever was necessary to support the Club.
Illiine became Chair of the Environment Committee, then became the Bylaws Chair, and then became the Treasurer. Even though it's not written in her job description, she is available to help wherever and whenever she is needed. Awesome!

Carolyn, as House and Grounds Chair, was on the premises throughout the week maintaining our beautiful house and grounds. She was in the office on a regular basis and helped out with membership training which included ordering member badges and anything else needed for the Club operations. She has recently stepped down from her position as Chair, but is still very active in the Club. I am very thankful for their help and willingness to do whatever is needed for the Club.

WCCG Marches The King Mango Strut
The King Mango Strut parade is coming up this January 8th and we need you to march with us! Participate in this wacky, satirical parade and be part of Coconut Grove history. The King Mango Strut parade was founded in 1982 by local grovites and has receive accolades as an unique artistic endeavor ever since.
We are looking to create our theme but “Ladies Gone Viral” seems fitting. Dressed as Ladies of the 1880's in period clothing using a broom to sweep, fake alligator wrestling with our environmentalists, or for the less brave, maybe hold a "save our planet" sign. This is a great opportunity for artists to put their imaginations to use. We need you to make this a success, please contact Stephanie Kepley who is spearheading this effort for more details.

Community Life
Sherrill Martin, Community Life Chair, happily reports that the December Holiday party for seniors was wildly successful. Guests even reported that it was the best one ever! The kids that performed loved it so much that it was hard for them to leave the stage. A fun time was had by all!
Even the the gift wrapping the day before the event was a party unto itself. Volunteers love this activity and walked away knowing that their efforts were greatly appreciated.

Our fundraising Chair, Cynthia Shelley, invites you to share any prospective donors with her. The WCCG has many projects that need support including, but not limited to, improvements to our clubhouse.

We can receive support from individuals, corporations, grants, bequests and more. Contact Cynthia if you would like to help support our fundraising efforts. All help is greatly appreciated.
