Caldwell Public Library Newsletter — January 6, 2026

A New Year's Note from the Director:

Our word for 2026: Here

Dear Caldwell Community:

We often hear the phrase “the only constant in life is change” (or variations of this sentiment, usually attributed to the ancient Greek philosopher Herclitus).

But we think it needs an update because Herclitus, or whomever popularized this observation, did not account for the Caldwell Public Library!

We anticipate CPL going through some major - but good! - changes this coming year, because change is most definitely inevitable - and constant.

A new building! With improvements and new spaces that we have yet to be able to offer! And new collections! New programs!

But what doesn’t change? The Caldwell Public Library is here for you. Through natural disasters, moves, and whatever else life throws at us, the Caldwell Public Library is here for our community. We continue to adapt, we continue to provide the resources you need and want, and we strive to always create a welcoming physical space for reading, gathering, learning, working, and play.

Change may be a constant, but in Caldwell, our public library is also a constant - reliable, informative, and providing free access to resources that help you succeed.

That's why our Word of the Year, our guiding star for 2026, is Here.

We wish you a wonderful 2026 and can't wait to see you at the Library!

Robin Rockman

Director, Caldwell Public Library

New Building UPDATE!

A peek into the Children's Corner

We are getting closer to our move to 80 Bloomfield, our new home! As progress on the building renovations continues, we are spotlighting different parts of the new library for you to look forward to!

Above, we highlight a part of the Children's Corner, looking very colorful, indeed! As you can see, the walls are painted, the carpeting has been set, and we are that much closer to opening the doors to families excited to spend time in their new library space! Picture colorful furnishings, reading nooks, a sensory corner, and even a hug chair!

Our move is projected to take place in early 2026so close! In these last few weeks, we will have more updates for you: important dates and temporary changes to services as our move-in date approaches. Stay tuned!
