You are the Beloved

Here's a poem for New Year's Day that I received from a friend this week:

"Late Fragment"
And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.

               -Raymond Carver

May the day be filled with the certain knowledge that you are beloved, and may the New Year hold the same truth for you.
