Microsoft Store Fun!


Does your Little love video games or technology? If so, this month's featured activity will be perfect and will keep you out of the New England cold! The Microsoft Store in the Natick Mall has free events each week, all you need to do is register online! Here are some highlights:

Public Skating all Winter Long: MetroWest
The Arena is open all winter long until April. There are hours for public skating every day, including Saturdays and Sundays from 2 pm to 3:45 pm. Admission is cash only, $5 adults and $3 children. Skate rentals available weekends for $5. For full details visit the website.

Public Skating on the Worcester Common Oval
The Worcester Common Oval opened for the Winter season with the annual Festival of Lights on Friday, December 2, 2016. Regular hours of operation are Fridays 5 PM to 8 PM, Saturdays 1 PM to 6 PM and Sundays 1 PM to 6PM. Admission is $5 and skate rentals are available for $2. Art Carts Family Fun: Eastern and Western Tea
England and Japan are both known for their tea service: England for the beautifully formal tea parties, and Japan for the elaborately choreographed cha-no-yu ceremony. Flora in Winter
Come in from the winter cold to the warmth of WAM's annual floral extravaganza, when the Museum blooms with flower arrangements inspired by works of art. Danforth Art Museum - Drop into Art
Begin your visit exploring works of art through hands-on activities with the teen and Adult Docents in the Children's Gallery and other exhibits.  Next, visit the studios to create art of your own inspired by what you saw in the galleries.  Different projects are offered each month in a variety of media, such as paint, charcoal, collage, and found objects.

KAHBAHBLOOOM: The Art and Storytelling of Ed Emberley
The first comprehensive retrospective for artist Ed Emberley, among the most prolific and respected illustrators of children's literature of the last 60 years. The exhibition draws on the Massachusetts-based artist's personal archive of original hand-drawn sketches, woodblock prints, final proofs, and first edition books. KAHBAHBLOOOM will include interactive areas throughout the exhibition.

EcoTarium Fun: Turtle Travels!
Turtles take amazing journeys and they need your help along the way. Have you ever spied a Swiss Army Turtle? Or tracked a turtle with radio telemetry? Wander through a life-size board game and see firsthand what it's like to travel through a turtles terrain. This fun-filled, interactive exhibit provides a turtles eye-view of life in the slow lane.
