Dear Friends,

I want to share with you some important news. After six wonderful years with the Council of Urban Professionals, I will be moving on to take a senior role in Mayor de Blasio's administration. I am sad to be leaving CUP which has been a wonderful, fulfilling, and welcoming professional home since 2007.  I am also proud that CUP is stronger today than it has ever been.

Over the last several years, CUP has grown to over 1,500 individual members, a national network of 20,000, and 65 corporate partners. 2014 promises to be our most successful year yet as we grow the impact of our Leadership Institute, continue to help our members give back through board service, and expand our CUP community to Los Angeles.

OnRamps, the leading search firm in the non-profit sector, has been selected to find the next leader of CUP. The interim Executive Leadership Team consists of James Francis, CUP Board Chair & Founder and CEO of Paradigm Asset Management LLC; Beverly Anderson, CUP Board Vice Chair & Head of the Executive Search Committee and EVP & Head of Consumer Financial Services Group at Wells Fargo; Lucinda Martinez, CUP Board Secretary & Treasurer and SVP, Domestic Network Distribution & Multicultural Marketing at Home Box Office, Inc.; and Tarrus Richardson, CUP Founder and CEO of IMB Development Corporation.

In addition, the senior members of CUP's team are: Samantha Erskine for Development; Kiyana Stansbury for Communications & Events; Avital Tamir Temchin for the Leadership Institute; and Rashidah White for Finance & Administration.  After many years of working alongside the Executive Leadership Team and these powerhouse women, I know the organization is in excellent hands under their leadership.

CUP heads into 2014 with an ambitious agenda, a talented staff, and a dedicated Board. Thank you for all you've done to help build CUP into the dynamic, thriving organization it is today. CUP has an exciting future; as the organization extends its reach into new cities and deepens its relationships with the nation's foremost private, nonprofit, and public sector leaders, we can all be confident that CUP's brightest days are ahead.

With any immediate questions about our 2014 Leadership Gala or corporate partnership opportunities, please contact Samantha at serskine@nycup.org. Please refer general organization questions to Rashidah at rwhite@nycup.org and for information about our upcoming events in New York and Los Angeles, you can reach Kiyana at kstansbury@nycup.org. All inquiries related to CUP's Leadership Institute, can be directed to Avital at atamir@nycup.org

Thank you for being an important part of the CUP community and for your continued support. We hope to see many of you at CUP's upcoming 7th Annual Leadership Gala on April 17th!

Best,

Chloe Drew
