Greetings!
Hi, everyone! Happy New Year! I hope this January e-news finds you and yours well on this very snowy Wednesday.
Believe it or not, there is no rest for the wicked around here and we are gearing up for a new, fun event happening on February 9 at Upland's Woodshop at 6 pm. I would love to see you there! Tickets are $50 each and include two drink tickets and heavy hors de oeuvres. The goal is to raise $25,000 through our silent auction, wine wall (sponsored by our friends at Oliver Winery - thanks!!!), and plenty of opportunities to give. There will be a brief program at 6:30 featuring our board chair, myself, and our main honorees, Pam and Laticia, who will each share their MCUM stories with guests. Attendees will also enjoy music from an ensemble from the Jacobs School of Music. The Woodshop has a limited capacity, so if you are interested in attending, I would highly recommend you grab those tickets TODAY!
All the best,
Katie
Executive Director
P.S. If you cannot make the Suds for Services event, you are welcome to contribute to our $25,000 goal, here:

Thank you to our friends at First Christian Church: Voices of Faith for hosting us at their recent meeting to learn more about MCUM's services. They generously hosted a cleaning & hygiene drive for us a few months back and wanted to hear about the imact.
If you would like to arrange a speaker for one of your groups, let us know!

We would also like to thank First Presbyterian Church for hosting us at their recent Faith Forum on January 22. The group asked some wonderful questions and we had a great discussion about MCUM's programs, post-pandemic challenges, and how local nonprofits collaborate.
Thank you, friends!

Use your change, to make a change, and RoundUp!
|
We have partnered with RoundUp App, which will allow supporters to opt-in to donate change from their credit card purchases to MCUM. Other nonprofits using this App similar in size to MCUM generate about $3,000 of extra revenue each month - that's the equivalent of funding the Puffin room for one month!
When asked, more than 45% of people round up to support organizations. We are hoping one of those people will be you!

We are SO proud of our very own Sherene Ing who has been named Director of IU First Nations Educational & Cultural Center.
Yesterday, we had a send-off open house with pizza, pretzels, cake, and, of course... Sherene's favorite, onion rings! We shared countless stories and memories we have shared over Sherene's 4 years at MCUM. Her last task was to leave her lasting mark on our food pantry walls.
We will miss Sherene at MCUM every day, but we are so honored to have gotten 4 wonderful years with her leadership, passion, and insightfulness. We could not be more excited for her new adventure and cannot wait to see the impact she makes for First Nation students!
