Rental Assistance and
Food Distribution
|
This month, Ashley would like to feature some of our partner agencies and how they can assist you financially.
Operation Hope has $500 mini-grant funds available to assist with rent/utilities/credit card payments, etc. FUNDS ARE STILL AVAILABLE
Rental Assistance is available for Westminster residents through the City of Westminster WCARES program. Applications are open from 1/13-1/28.
Lastly, Food distribution is available through Melinda Hoag Smith Center for Healthy Living and for your pet through the OC Animal Care pet food pantry held every 2nd Saturday of the month.
Information on these resources available in Spanish and Vietnamese upon request.

Meet Arlene Flores, HBAS Job Developer. During COVID-19, Arlene's expertise in job development has been put to use more than ever before. She has helped many students prepare for virtual interviews, locate job opportunities and she updates the job board which currently has 60 active jobs.
In a recent article in our catalog she gave some tips for job searching during COVID-19. They are:
1. Get comfortable with the remote interview reality. 2. Polish your resume. 3. Now is the time to update your computer skills. 4. Don't read too much into job titles. 5. Network!!!

How can the Guidance Specialist Help Me?
|
Ongoing services include class selection and registration, scheduling, goal monitoring, grade recording, and record keeping. (No in-person appointments at this time)
Guidance Specialists also fulfill requests for student records including transcripts (Transcript Request form must be filled out and emailed to Guidance Specialist), GPA verifications (for CalGrant), and proof of enrollment/attendance
