Late Summer Northern
Coho Fishing

One of the biggest questions we get when guests are planning a fishing trip with us at the Rivers Inlet Sportsman’s Club is should I come in July or August & what is the difference? In a nutshell, we can have our best fishing on any given day during our brief eight-week summer season. Why only 8 weeks? This is when the overlapping salmon runs in our area are at their peak, affording our guests the best opportunity for consistent fishing. The returning runs of Chinook/King salmon start to appear in Rivers Inlet in early May & are around until October. However, we wait until July to open the lodge as this is when the schools of migrating coho/silver salmon typically get plentiful. READ MORE ON OUR BLOG.
BEST FISHING LODGE
IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

I have been visiting this lodge for the past 27 years and have the highest of praises for Barb, Simon and staff as they treat you like royalty during your stay. Over the years, the service has never changed from Simon's sermons on the introduction to the local fishing grounds, to dealing with knuckle busting reels and how to dealing with landing big fish.

HALIBUT RECIPE
WITH LEMON BUTTER SAUCE

This pan seared halibut recipe with lemon butter sauce takes just 20 minutes.
The SECRET to getting a nice brown crust on the fish is by making sure that you use paper towel, newspaper or anything to make sure that halibut filets are COMPLETELY DRY. I have been cooking fish for over 40 years & just recently discovered the drier the better, so don't be afraid of an aggressive "post-marinating towel off"!
