HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Fulton County government offices and facilities will be closed Wednesday, December 31 through Friday, January 3, 2026, and will reopen Monday, January 5, 2026, in observance of New Year’s Day.
| | |
As we welcome the New Year, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our community. The past year was filled with meaningful connections, important work, and opportunities to make a real difference—and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
A key part of our work continues to be our partnerships with local nonprofits that serve our community every day. These organizations provide vital resources, support, and services to families, seniors, students, and neighbors in need. We are proud to collaborate with them and help amplify their impact.
As we begin the year, we also want to remind you that supporting nonprofits—whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness—makes a lasting difference. Contributions made by the end of the year can have an even greater impact, helping organizations start the new year strong and continue their important missions.
Thank you for your continued support, engagement, and commitment to our community. Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year—we look forward to working together in the months ahead.

| | Fulton County Water: Taste and Odor Issues | | |
Regional water taste and odor issues appear to be dissipating, following a surge in Geosmin and MIB compound concentrations that peaked at the end of October. Specifically, Geosmin levels reached 7.8 before dropping to 2, while MIB levels increased to 150 and subsequently decreased to below 20. Despite these unusually high concentrations, water quality has remained good.
Nevertheless, in light of these infrequent occurrences, the Fulton County water treatment facility is planning upgrades to enhance its activated carbon filtration capabilities by increasing volume capacity and adding another filtration point. Furthermore, ozone treatment may be incorporated into the filtration process. For now, it is hoped that water quality has returned to normal, both currently and in the long term.
