Greetings Friends!
WE HOPE YOU HAD A VERY LOVELY HOLIDAY AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Snow Gods have blessed us this season with non stop great conditions and SkiCo maintenance grooming is incomparable. I skied “corduroy" today with a few inches of fresh snow on top and it was absolute perfection!

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Somehow, through all the poor leadership of the Mayor and Aspen City Council, Aspen manages to still be the greatest ski resort and local town in America. Many of you may not be aware of the foibles just in the last year that the current administration foisted on this amazing town. One example is taking away 44 parking spaces so bikers and pedestrians could walk in the street where restaurants and retail stores needed the parking. Another example is closing the beloved childcare facility for local working parents because they could not find workers for a 5th day- so better with none than 4 days per week?! The list is truly endless. We now have 3 seats of 5 available including the Mayor. We business minded people are supporting Tracy Sutton for Mayor, Bill Guth and Sam Rose for the two council seats. Please click below:

MY PERSONAL RESTAURANT REVIEWS
MiChola: the best “local” Mexican food in town (pictured above). I took my Minnesota college great niece and ski team friend this past Saturday night. We had great service, excellent food served quickly and my bill for three with “mocktails” was under $100.00 with tip. Honestly!
Hard to beat and we took food home. CLICK HERE

Chica: I have written about this restaurant a few times since it opened last year. The outside deck on the west side of the gondola is fabulous. However, for dinner the music is way too loud for a pleasant conversation so request the tables in the way back middle. The servers are very pleasant and the food is tasty BUT one friend ordered Don Julio on the rocks. They charged us $6.00 for rocks. Of course, we asked for the manager. Supposedly (and probably because of the Christmas/New Year scene) many patrons like the sculpted one large piece of ice - just know it will cost you! The most fun thing on the menu is still the flaming skull dessert. Their one value time seems to be lunch. CLICK HERE

Parc: (former L’Hosteria) I finally got a table with local friends last week. This place is actually “worth it.” The space was gutted and replaced with a very mellow pale blue farmhouse vibe with very quiet background music. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The Sommelier knew his list. The new owners smartly kept the local bar menu. I actually saw locals there and yes, we will be back!
