Today, civic participation occurs at many levels. We make impactful decisions about our community every time we make a purchase, vote, post on social media and, of course, volunteer. We think any awareness we can bring to the many resources that might spur individual action for good, falls right in line with what we’re up to at HandsOn.

Happy New Year!

We are grateful for the past year and excited to see what 2024 brings.

We hope you consider giving back to your community as your New Year's resolution. HandsOn Greater Phoenix makes it easy using our Opportunity Calendar so that you can volunteer when you want and with the organizations that you care about.

Already a regular volunteer? We invite you to our New Year's challenge of inviting friends or family the next time you volunteer. The number one reason that someone volunteers is because someone asked them! Help to spark change in others and your community.

MLK Weekend of Service

We invite you to join one of our MLK Day Volunteer Events from Saturday, January 13th - Monday, January 15th. In this time divisiveness, this is an opportunity reflect on Dr. King's legacy and remind us all that service unites.

The 2024 MLK Day Volunteer Events are here!

Join the HandsOn team for Project Vitamin C! Come out to pick citrus fruit at Saguaro Ranch in Glendale Saturday, January 13th from 9 am-12pm. Fruit from this event will be donated to local food pantries to be distributed to families in need.

Sort and Pack at St. Mary's Food Bank on Saturday, January 13th from 12 pm- 2 pm. Want to go the extra mile? Bring nonperishable food donations to the event with you!

Help provide a meal at St. Vincent de Paul. Shifts are open for the morning breakfast on Monday, January 15th 6:30 am- 9:30 am. St. Vincent de Paul provides over 4,000 meals twice a day to help those facing homelessness.

Join us for our first MLK Day: Virtual Civic Circle Learning Session! Discover how civic engagement can look in different spheres of taking action for the causes we care about. The call will take place Monday, January 15th 3:00 pm- 4:00 pm. Virtual Opportunity!

Charitable Tax Credit

It is not too late to redirect your tax dollars for 2023!

The Qualifying Charitable Tax Credit allows Arizona donors like you to get back your charitable contribution as a state tax refund or credit against what you owe in state taxes. Claim up to $421 back for single filers or $841 for joint filers.

Donate to HandsOn Greater Phoenix or your favorite qualifying local nonprofit to redirect tax dollars to causes you care about.
