Our Promise
. Our Promise (formerly Our Place) is a day center for people living on the street in Morristown.
(It is now under the umbrella of the Family Promise organization.)
As the three kings bring gifts to baby Jesus, please come with your gift wrapped in white paper. The suggested list for White Gift donations are:
-umbrellas
-
rain ponchos
-chapstick
-
men's undershirts (L and XL)
-
men's boxer shorts (L and XL)
-
socks
-granola bars
-ladies' underpants (L and XL)
-small water bottles
-hand warmers (chemical packets)
-small packages of tissues
-individual snack packages (chips, cookies, etc.)
-hand sanitizer
-reusable (cloth) grocery bags
-wipes
-Dr. Schol's shoe inserts
-cans of soda
-gum
-foot powder
-protein bars
-hot chocolate packets
-travel coffee mugs
-cash donations will be used for bus passes
and gift cards for food and coffee

- Monday, January 7th Weekly Monday Noontime Bible Study Resumes, Room 7: Whether you’re brand-new to the Bible, or know it inside and out, you’re welcome! The group will meet each Monday from noon – 1:30 pm in Room 7. Feel free to bring your lunch or a snack, and feel free to bring a friend – whether or not they are part of CUMC. Questions? CUMC's music groups will begin practicing and rehearsing for the new year again this week!
- The Wesley Ringers and Covenant Choir begin Thursday evening rehearsals at 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively.
- Our Ukulele Orchestra will practice on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Music Room.
- Youth Musicians will meet this Sunday evening with Singers at 5:45 p.m. in the Music Room and Ringers at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
- Kenaniah Praise Band and Wind Ensemble will also get organized for the Winter and Spring seasons.

Call for Family Promise Volunteers:
As the New Year 2019 gets underway we will be hosting our Family Promise Guests January 20 - January 27. We need your help! Please sign up to host, make a dinner, or help with set-up, clean-up or laundry. Visit the sign-up sheet opposite the Pastor’s Office in the hallway, or contact:
Holidays and winter weather are especially stressful for our families struggling with poverty, homelessness, estrangement, misfortune, and injustice. Our hospitality is their exaltation, dignifying and strengthening their lives. Don’t hesitate to call Claudia with questions about the ministry.
