Our Mission

To offer hope, knowledge, and support to cancer patients, their families, caregivers, and friends by providing a source of information, social services, and compassion through all stages of the cancer journey.

Happy New Year 2023!!

Dear Friends & Supporters,

As the new year approaches, I find myself thankful for my first five months serving as the Executive Director for the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. Whether it has been collaborating with the board, staff, partners, or supporters, I am fortunate to be in the company of such compassionate and knowledgeable leaders.

Even more inspiring is the energy each of you continues to give in the face of so many of the nation’s current health, economic and social challenges. While the time has approached for many of us to pause and reconnect with family, friends, and most importantly...ourselves, I am encouraged at the prospects that 2023 will bring for the Beth Wright Cancer Center and the communities we serve. My enthusiasm is bolstered by all the life-changing work our staff and partners do daily.

As I reflect, I’m filled with gratitude for all who have been a part of the Beth Wright Center in 2022. Whether you gave your time, your dollars, your words of advice or your letters of support, you are a fundamental part of our work and our hope for the future. I’m grateful to those of you who trusted us to make the right (and sometimes difficult) decisions during the past year.

Nevertheless, as we take our respective respites from our daily labors, please remember those who are near, far, and no longer with us. Celebrate life, recharge, and consider joining us in 2023!

Wishing You All Good Tidings of Joy for a Happy New Year!

If you have any questions, need assistance or just want to say hi, please feel free to stop by or call us at the Center 207-664-0339 or email us at [email protected]

All the Best,

Angela Fochesato, Executive Director

2022 Annual Appeal Wrapping Up

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year, and cheers to starting strong: you helped us raise funds in the last days of 2022! Helping us reach our Annual Appeal goals we are still a few funds short of meeting that goal.

Thank you to all the generous members of our community for supporting our end-of-the-year Annual campaign and to the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center Board of Directors for their support. Your dollars make an impact no matter how large or small your donation may be. Everyone of you is making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer today.

Your donations will help provide so much this year:

Direct Services: offering one-on-one support to cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones.

Community Programs: putting practical solutions in motion to solve everyday cancer problems.

There’s no greater gift you can give than the gift of health, and by supporting the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center, you’re helping us help sustain and grow community cancer programming to help improve quality of life for patients, families, and friends in the midst of a cancer diagnosis, treatment and/or remission.

Because of kind donors like you, we can ensure cancer patients and their families have access to free support, advice, resources, services, and information. Your generosity and support help make Beth’s legacy possible and make her vision a continued reality for residents of Washington and Hancock County.

This partnership is helping expand and complement the Beth C.  What are the benefits of a second opinion?

 What if I do not understand what I am being told?

This special event could not have been possible without the committed volunteers who came together and made it all happen under the guidance of creator Amy Reisman who began the Festival in 2020 as a safe, celebratory way for the community to get together during the holiday season during the pandemic and this year marks the Third Annual Beth C. Wright Festival of Lights.

A huge thank you goes to Amy Reisman, the artist and designer. Thank you so much for the immeasurably valuable work you have done for this event! We have not thanked you and the many volunteers enough and want to let you know that your dedication is essential to the work that we do. We cannot do it without you. You Can DONATE Through CLYNK

to Beth C. Wright Center

Thanks to Hannaford’s Community Cash program, it’s easy for you to donate your bottles and can deposits to the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center (BWC.)

Hannaford uses a redemption company called CLYNK, which makes it simple for recyclers to designate a charity as the recipient of their can and bottle deposit donations. Stop by the Center to pick up a green CLYNK bag. It will come with a UPC symbol affixed to the bag identifying BWC.

Fill the bag with redeemable bottles and cans; after that, simply return the bag (with the sticker on it) to the CLYNK redemption station at the Ellsworth Hannaford and all of the bottles and cans you recycle will be added to our account balance. You can pick up your CLYNK bags here at the Center. Call the Center to find out more - 207-664-0336 or email us at [email protected].
