Let Y0ur Resolutions Bring Joy
We all do it: in a burst of energy, we greet the new year with a list of ambitious resolutions. It's a testament to our optimism as human beings, isn't it?
However, did you know that studies show it takes us 21 days in a row to build a new habit? Other studies show it takes on average 66 days - more than two months!
One study showed that it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days !
An emotional connection makes all the difference in achieving a new habit.
If you reinforce each day how positive, happy, and content
that carrying out your new habit makes you feel,
then you will be far more inclined to stick to it.
So, when making that list of resolutions,
try adding how each new behavior will bring positivity and happiness to you.
As each day passes, reflect on your state of mind and heart
and let your new habit bring you joy.
And, if as we all do, we have a day in which we fail in our new habit attempt,
just turn the page in your book of 2020...
