Join us on January 23rd for an Author Presentation & Book Club with David DeJong. DeJong has published seven books and is the director of the Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project. The Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project is a construction project funded by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and designed to deliver water from the Central Arizona Project, the Gila River, and other sources to the Gila River Indian Reservation. DeJong’s Author Presentation at 2:00 pm will delve into the hot button topic of local water issues focusing on his newly published book Diverting the Gila. After the program, DeJong will sign copies of his books.
The Book Club selections are DeJong’s three books (Stealing the Gila, Diverting the Gila, Forced to Abandon Our Fields). Read any of the three titles for Book Club at 1:00 pm. Join us for Author Presentation, Book Club, or both! All three books are available for sale in the museum gift shop.
