Student Spotlight: El Camino STEM Students Get Ready to Launch their Business with Support from NASA
A group of El Camino College STEM students is embracing the challenge of getting a new business off and running, while also pursuing degrees in engineering.

Their startup received initial funding from a $5,000 grant awarded earlier this year from the NASA Minority University Research & Education Project (MUREP) Innovation & Tech Transfer Idea Competition (MITTIC). The El Camino team drafted a 14-page concept paper for a 3D printing business and was selected as one of eight finalists to present at a Space Tank virtual immersion experience at NASA Johnson Space Center. Designed as a “Shark Tank”-style competition, students pitched their idea to NASA engineers, and then finalists were selected based on innovation and creativity. Usually, teams travel to the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston for the final competition; this year’s competition was held virtually due to the coronavirus. Read more about their product and business plan HERE.
From L to R, Noe Servellon, electrical engineering, El Camino, Chief Technology Officer; Alexander Lopez, mechanical engineering, CSU Los Angeles, Chief Financial Officer; Mohammad Pasta, civil engineering, UC Berkeley, Chief Executive Officer; Moises Santander, electrical engineering, El Camino, Chief Operating Officer; and Faizan Darsot, mechanical engineering, University of Michigan, Chief Product Officer.
Program Spotlight: December 2021 Nursing Pinning Ceremony
El Camino College held its fall 2021 Nursing Pinning Ceremony on December 17th, honoring students who completed their Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. The traditional ceremony recognized the hard work and determination of this year’s graduates.

Congratulations to all our future RN’s! We are so proud of you!
Community Partners Spotlight: JPMorgan Chase
We are pleased to announce the beginning of a new community partnership with JPMorgan Chase.

After sponsoring and judging El Camino College's Entrepreneurial Studies Perfect Pitch Business Plan Competition, JPMorgan Chase decided to further support our students with a generous gift funding scholarships, the Warrior Pantry, and the upcoming 75th Anniversary Gala.

Thank you JPMorgan Chase for believing in our students and the good work of the El Camino College Foundation!
