Thanks, LSTA! Generous Grant Funds Upgrades to Early Learning Tech Offerings
New year, new tech! NKCPL is happy to announce the grant-funded acquisition of four new early learning/AWE computer stations in our Youth Services department. These machines will replace the existing ones (that's the two that currently flank the circ desk in the Children's area, plus the two that face the west wall), and represent a needed and exciting upgrade of the Library's current digital offerings in the early and elementary learning spaces.

These acquisitions are supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
Need books, DVDs & puzzles for cozy days indoors? We've got you covered!
Don’t get bored this winter! Instead, get the goods for at-home fun at NKCPL. The Library has tons of items to help make your indoor time fly, including (more than 3 million!) books, audiobooks, DVDs, and puzzles. Come in and browse (the traditional way), or look for items online or in-app.

And just a reminder! We've still got designated Curbside delivery times (see those hours above), so if your holds come in and you don't want to get out, we can run them to your car. Could be an appealing option on a super-cold day!

To start browsing, go to nkcpl.org, or look for Missouri Evergreen in your device's app store.
Check out NKCPL's monthly book group
Want to be part of a group of thoughtful readers who meet to chat about great fiction and nonfiction? Check out the Library's Book Club for Adults! This group meets the third Saturday of the month here at the Library--and they'd love to welcome you to their crew!

Ready to jump in? The next meeting is Saturday, January 15, when the group will discuss Women Rowing North: Navigating Life's Currents and Flourishing As We Age by Mary Pipher. In February, the group will read Still Life by Louise Penny. For more info about attending this month's meeting (or a future one), give us a call at 816.221.3360.
Libby is Overdrive (and it's worth a look!)
Do you use the Libby app for digital items? Libby is the Overdrive collection in an updated app. In fact, starting next month, Overdrive will begin “sunsetting” its legacy Overdrive app, and updating Libby (exclusively) instead. This is just one more reason--along with Libby’s intuitive design and bevy of handy features--to make the leap to Libby for your digital books and magazines. To find it, search "Libby" in your device's app store.
Winter is here! And if you're feeling crafty...
NKCPL has you covered! The Library continues to offer a small selection of take-and-make crafts for adults (suitable for older kiddos and young adults, too!). In addition to a few (remaining) holiday-ish card kits, we currently have a sweet winter gnome magnet craft on hand. Interested? Inquire at the Library's main desk. While supplies last!
