Aaniin / She:kon / Hello,

As OALA strives toward Land Management Excellence, I am pleased to share that work has commenced to update our strategic plan. Once again, Cambium Indigenous Professional Services (CIPS) has been commissioned to assist us through this process.

Endorsed in 2021, our five-year strategic plan has given us the guidance needed to attain key strategic commitments, perspectives, and align resources to specific areas of focus which include:

  • Engaging with Members
  • Leadership and Governance
  • Capacity Building and Training
  • Partnerships, Advocacy and Government Relations
  • Research, Technical and Advisory Services

While tremendous progress has been made, OALA committed to a process of review and reflection. In the coming weeks and months, the CIPS Team will be engaging with the board, staff, membership, and key partners by way of virtual and in-person forums. We will also issue a virtual survey to renew discussions about the strategic direction of OALA.

OALA and the CIPS Team are excited to work together as we collect input needed to reaffirm our current strategic direction. Please look for correspondence in the coming month for opportunities to have your voice heard.

Thank you,

Jessica Pickett

Executive Director - OALA
