Ana's Journey to a New Chapter of Hearing


Born with a genetic condition that caused early hearing loss in both ears, Ana initially managed her hearing with hearing aids. When she moved to the US from Argentina in her 20s, she was offered cochlear implants but felt content with her current solution. However, after nearly two decades, Ana decided to revisit the option of cochlear implants to address her hearing loss. This decision led her to the Pacific Neuroscience Institute, where she met with expert surgeon Courtney Voelker, MD, PhD, and audiologist Rebecca Lewis, AuD. In 2024, Ana underwent bilateral cochlear implantation, a life-changing procedure that has brought the miracle of hearing back into her life.
