Our Mission: Offering compassionate, faith-based recovery services to mothers and their children.
New year greetings from the Executive Director
Dear friends of Sojourner House,

This year has been a year of overcoming challenges. The crisis that we are in has impacted all of us, and has been especially challenging for the families we serve. Support from staff, board members, volunteers, and community organizations has enabled our clients to stay focused on their important road to recovery.  This year has required so much from our staff, board members and volunteers, and I am grateful for their continued dedication, diligence and adaptability despite the risks. These difficult times have brought out the best in our staff, who continue to work together to provide outstanding care to the families that reside at Sojourner House and Sojourner House MOMS.

As 2020 comes to a close, I have hope that 2021 will be a year of triumph for our organization. This year holds great importance as it marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of Sojourner House. Our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our progress possible. It is in this spirit that we say ... thank you.

From all of us at Sojourner House and Sojourner House MOMS, we wish you a wonderful and prosperous new year!

Thanksgiving at Sojourner House
The residents of Sojourner House dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner
The residents of Sojourner House had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, catered by Giant Eagle. We asked Sojourner House Clinical Supervisor Pam Wood about the dinner. Pam said, "For Thanksgiving dinner we wanted to do something special for the ladies and their children given the fact that they could not visit with their families, we wanted to make it as home-like as possible. The residents said that they enjoyed the dinner and felt like they were at a fancy restaurant. I believe it’s our obligation to make Sojourner House feel like their home while they are our residents here."
Thank you to our holiday donors
Thank you to the many donors who made this holiday season so special for the families of Sojourner House and Sojourner House MOMS!

Kenia and friends donate toys to Sojourner House for Christmas
Luciana Brussi and about a dozen friends of Sojourner House supporter, Kenia Ashby, recently collected toy donations for Sojourner House’s children to be distributed on Christmas. The donation was made in honor of Kenia Ashby, a jazz singer, who shared her talents during Sojourner House’s virtual Victorian Tea in August. Click the button below to read more.

Sabika donates jewelry for Sojourner House children to give to their mothers
Although COVID-10 prevented Sojourner House’s dear friends at Sabika Jewelry from creating their annual in-person Santa’s Workshop, they still spread holiday cheer by providing jewelry for Sojourner House children to give to their mothers. Sabika also gave jewelry to our moms who don’t have their children with them this Christmas. Along with the stunning jewelry, Sabika included lots of treats for our families to enjoy. Thank you, Sabika, for your ongoing friendship and support!
Save the date for the 18th Annual Victorian Tea!
We are happy to announce Sojourner House's 18th Annual Victorian Tea fundraiser will take place on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021.

The Victorian Tea is an important awareness event and fundraiser that brings together hundreds of individuals: many mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons, along with corporate, community, and church-based friends. Attendees will enjoy a traditional tea, silent auction and raffle, while learning about the award-winning work of East Liberty-based Sojourner House -- a six-month residential rehabilitation program for addicted mothers and their children -- and hearing the inspiring stories of the families who have lived there.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
