December 31, 2023

Greetings!
For me, there’s nothing like bringing family and friends out to my favorite spaces: Abbotts Lagoon, Limantour on a wintry day, the rain-dripping Bear Valley Trail, Drakes Beach for the elephant seals!
As a board member of PRNSA, I also know all the hard work that goes into sustaining these places, and the effort that goes into showing off the Seashore to best advantage. I am so proud of our programs for youth (1,500+ participants this year) and our many strong partnerships.
Mostly, I’m proud of the stewardship of such a variety of visitor experiences: the Lighthouse, the trails, the beaches. PRNSA works alongside the National Park Service and Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria to make the Seashore accessible to all, sustainably cared for, and ecologically sound.
Your ongoing support helps make all that happen. Huge thanks for your generous gifts. I look forward to seeing you on the trails this season, and hope you’ll find yourselves out often, enjoying the trails, the rain, the wildlife… and your friends and family.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year,
Catherine Porter
PRNSA Board Chair
P.S. This is our last chance to reach our 2023 year-end fundraising goals. Please consider making a gift in support of our conservation, education, and community building work!
Visit Abbotts Lagoon Through Sound
Enjoy exploring trails through sound? You'll love what we have coming up in 2024! Abbotts Lagoon (soundscape recorded by Cheryl Leonard) is one of five trails to be featured in an upcoming Trail Sounds StoryMap that will guide you along hikes using beautiful photos, informative text, breathtaking sound recordings, and more. Keep an eye out in the New Year!
We partner with the National Park Service to create opportunities for all people to experience, enhance, and preserve Point Reyes National Seashore for present and future generations.
