TIM Highlights & Information
2021 National TIM Day Campaign
This year, the Governor’s Office officially proclaimed October 29th, 2021 as Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Day in Georgia! Hosted by TIME Task Force, we celebrated TIM Day by increasing awareness of the importance of TIM practices and honored the brave TIM responders who save lives every day.

Various videos featuring HERO, CHAMP and GSP were also utilized across TIME’s social media channels to help show how TIM is truly a team effort.

Thank you, TIM responders, for keeping our roads safe! You can view the videos here.
Catoosa Co TIM Team
Meeting Highlight
The November 18 TIM team Meeting took place at the Catoosa County Fire Department in Ringgold, Georgia.

The meeting brought together many agencies in traffic incident management including fire, law enforcement, CHAMP, and transportation management center personnel in Georgia and Tennessee.

Not only did guests gain insightful information from wonderful speakers, but after the meeting, they got to leave with fun goodies provided by our friends at 511 Georgia.
Online Learning Made Easy for You
Check out the TIME Task Force Training Repository for FREE TIM Classes
It is always great to sign up for a class and interact with an instructor, but online learning has made the process even easier! In January of 2021, we launched a new Learning Management System that brings learning to your fingertips. smartphone or laptop – your choice! Our Learning Management System provides training opportunities where and when you want them.

Besides being available 24 hours a day, some of the benefits of the Learning Management System are:
  • All eLearning content is located in one place. No more hunting for topics that interest you.
  • It easily tracks your training progress. You can even pick up training where you left off.
  • You can earn certificates and CEU hours all in one place.
  • It reduces your learning time. Why take a 4-hour, in-person class, when you can work at your own pace and see the same content in less time.
  • It helps to keep your certifications up to date by tracking them in the system.

Some of the information you’ll find on the Learning Management System site is:
  • Do you know where the emergency access gates are located and how they operate? Emergency Access Gate Training provides insight into our toll road system and how to navigate them when an incident occurs.
  • Are you aware of the risks involved when an electronic vehicle is involved in an incident? Take Electronic Vehicle Safety Training to learn how to disable these vehicles safely.
  • Are you a Law Enforcement Officer and want to bring yourself up to date on the best way to handle an incident and avoid harm to yourself or other drivers? Traffic Incident Management Responder Training for Law Enforcement provides lots of great tips for first responders.
  • Did you know that over 100 first responders are struck and killed at incident sites? For a quick summary on the Move Over Law and what it means to you as a first responder, check out the Move Over Law Training!
  • TRIP is expanding! The Towing Recovery Incentive Program is covered in two courses on the LMS: TRIP Training for Law Enforcement and TRIP Training for CHAMP.
  • Professional development courses are also available. Take a look at Time Management Training and Facilitation Skills to enhance your soft skills in your position.

So you may be asking yourself, “How do I get involved in this new venture?” If you have attended a course in the past year, you have been automatically enrolled to track your progress in the system. Your User ID is your email address and the system will prompt you for a password.

If you have not been able to attend a course or don’t think you are in the system, just send an email to TIM_Training@dot.ga.gov to enroll. The training team is always ready to assist, so if you have any issues getting into the system, just reach out to us at that email and we’ll help you get in. 1,792 users can't be wrong – try the Learning Management System for yourself today!
