Retreat Leader: Lauren Schwer


Lauren Schwer is the Associate Director in the Division of Mission Integration at Loyola University Chicago, where she focuses on the spiritual and mission formation of faculty and staff and co-coordinates the Spiritual Exercises program.


Prior to this, Lauren served as Associate Director of Campus Ministry at Loyola Chicago where she developed and implemented a campus-wide retreat program. Having taught at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate level, Lauren’s passion for teaching continues in Catholic Studies, the Institute for Pastoral Studies, and with a variety of internships focused on spiritual direction and the Spiritual Exercises through Loyola’s Jesuit Community.


Lauren earned both her B.A. in Theology and M.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College and has certificates in Spiritual Direction (Loyola University Chicago) and Spiritual Entrepreneurship (Columbia Business School). She is nearing the end of her doctoral studies in Spirituality at Catholic Theological Union.
