Making your own chai at home is actually quite easy and yields fantastic results since you can make it just the way you like. As the weather starts to get cooler, it's a great way to keep your digestive fire healthy, balance out the increase in air & ether elements. I had a few requests to share the recipe after our demo - so here you go. Experiment and come up with your own version.
Choice of tea - (loose leaf or bag) black, rooibos or none.
Milk - whole milk, oat, almond or none
Spices - I like to use whole spices such as cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods (crushed), & clove
Fresh - sliced or grated ginger root & lemongrass (if you have it on hand)
Instructions : Boil your water with the spices! If using black tea or rooibos, add the tea after 2 - 3 minutes of boiling. If adding milk add
To sweeten - per your taste, add raw cane sugar, coconut sugar or palm sugar. If you prefer Honey, wait until your tea isn't hot. In warm tea it's safe to add honey.
