_____________ is my Happy Place.  (fill in the blank)

I was on my way to meet a friend at the Carnegie Museum last week and walking in from the parking lot, I was aware of a feeling of calm coming over me. You see, the Carnegie Museum is one of my Happy Places. Going there for over 25 years for a variety of reasons always brings me a sense of contentment. It's a space where I can tap into some of what feeds my soul....through art, design, and architecture.  Upon arriving, it feels like I'm releasing a big sighing exhale and creating space inside myself to inhale it all in.

I know that we shouldn't always be l ooking OUTSIDE ourselves for our Happy Places. That's what our yoga practice teaches us. What's that bumper sticker.... "Happiness is an INSIDE job!" But, there IS something about being in particular places and spaces, in both the built and natural environment, that enhances that feeling. We've all experienced it and we look for ways to visit those places again and again.

I've heard many times that the studio at BYS Yoga is one of those places for a lot of people. While I don't always feel it (because I'm looking for dust bunnies in the corners and hand/foot prints on the mirrors!), I am SO PLEASED that we can provide that space for you.... to be one of YOUR Happy Places.

It is with this concept in mind that we created our "NO SHOES SOUND SERIES" of acoustic concerts, which officially kicks off this Saturday, September 17th with Zach Rock. Creating opportunities for experiences within the places we already feel at H(OM)E enhances our well-being. We had the privilege of trying out this concept in the spring with musician, Brooke Annibale and from that evening of beautiful live music in a relaxed setting, a 2nd Saturdays/monthly series with other local musicians was born! We hope that you'll join us this Saturday (or a future 2nd Saturday) for this unique experience!

Give it some thought this week... where are your Happy Places.... and why!?

Namaste,
Kristi
