Dear Patrons,

Pride is a celebration of generations of LGBTQI+ people, who have fought bravely to live openly and authentically. And it is a reminder that we still have generational work to do to ensure that everyone enjoys the full promise of equity, dignity, protection, and freedom.

In this time of hate speech, book bans and anti-LGBTQI+ legislation, we've got a lot of work to do. Start with this great guide from Good Good Good with practical advice on celebrating, providing support and taking action. (Ad-free pdf version.)

Then, keep going:

• Learn about LGBTQI+ history at the Smithsonian and National Archives.
• Find local LGBTQI+ resources through Monterey Peninsula Pride.
• Support LGBTQI+ youth through the Obama Center, GLSEN, or PFLAG.
• Contact your elected officials, from the White House to the local school board, and urge them to support pro-LGBTQI+ legislation.
