Spring is upon us! We made it through 2020 (even if we thought it would never end), and 2021 is here. With the New Year comes new beginnings, and here at Bay Corporation, we are starting the year off in high spirits while continuing to do our part to be safe with COVID still around.

The weather was cold and frigid this past winter, but we expect it to warm up within the next couple of weeks, as spring officially started on March 20th. Spring in Northeast Ohio is beautiful, the weather is warm but not too hot, and many of us take advantage of this weather, as there is so much to do. One can go to the Metroparks to see spring blossom, the tides at Lake Erie, or enjoy a nice meal in the open air!

St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a big event for us here in Northeast Ohio. Unfortunately, the St. Patrick’s Day parade was canceled in Cleveland due to COVID-19, but there were still plenty of fun things to do! Many wore their green gear and celebrated with their friends via Zoom!

Cleveland Mac N' Cheese Week

From March 29th to April 4th, there will be a Cleveland Mac N’ Cheese Week. Restaurants around the area will participate in this event all week long. Those who participate will get a Mac N’ Cheese Week passport, and with that, you will be able to explore Cleveland, try new restaurants, and eat delicious mac n’ cheese.

Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve

The Lakefront Nature Preserve is a hidden gem in Cleveland. This preserve is just a couple of minutes east of the city center and is a beautiful place to visit. When going to the Lakefront Nature Preserve, you can expect to see plenty of birds and mesmerizing landscapes of the city and Lake Erie.

Cleveland Chocolate Festival

The third annual Cleveland Chocolate Festival will occur on April 10th. This event is the biggest chocolate event of the year for Cleveland. During this event, one will be able to try wine and chocolate pairings, complete a truffle-making class, drink chocolate drinks, and enjoy food!

Cleveland Reggae Fest

The Cleveland Reggae Fest has been going on since 2017, and this year it is on May 29th. This event acts as the perfect segway of going into summer! This event will be filled with relaxing, laid-back reggae music and delicious food!

Spring cleaning is around the corner! Warmer weather is coming which is increasing the need to have a clean space. We have gathered 10 of the best, easy tips that you could implement into your spring cleaning!

Use two doormats, one inside and one outside, to collect more dirt when entering your house.
Run a couple of lemon rind slivers through your garbage disposal and follow with cold water to get rid of any unwanted smells
To clean the stains in your microwave, fill a large bowl with 1 cup of water and a chopped-up lemon, lime, orange, or several tablespoons of vinegar. Turn the microwave on until the water boils. Let it cool for 5 minutes, then open the door and remove stains by wiping with a sponge.
Run a cut side of a lemon over a cutting board to help remove food stains and smells. For extra strength, sprinkle with salt or baking powder first.
To freshen drains and help keep them free-flowing, mix ½ cup baking soda with ¼ cup table salt. Pour down the drain, followed by 1 cup of heated vinegar. After 15 minutes, run hot tap water down the drain for at least 15-30 seconds.
Clean patio furniture by mixing a squirt of dish detergent into a bowl of warm water, wipe down the furniture, spray it down with water, and let it air dry.
To organize and clear the clutter, use a four-step approach! Sort your belongings into four categories- trash, give away, store, or put-away
Keep the minimum amount of cleaning products. Having a bunch of different cleaning supplies can create much clutter, and you probably do not need all of them.
Use old T-shirts to wipe down mirrors because they are great for keeping a mirror lint- and streak-free.
To wipe the smudges and fingerprints off of your T.V. screen, phone, or tablet without scratching or damaging the screen, use a coffee filter.
